How to play Farkle in 5 simple steps?

  1. Grab six dice and a friend (or more):

Prepare for a game of Farkle by gathering just two or more players and a set of six dice.

2: Decide who will go first during a roll-off:

As with many dice games, deciding the starting player through a roll-off is advisable. Each participant rolls a single die, and the player with the highest roll takes the first turn. In case of a tie, the tied players re-roll until the starting player is determined.

3: By rolling six dice, play the first turn to score points

3A: 6 dice Roll:

At the beginning of each turn, a player tosses all six dice.

Players must choose between fear and greed When they have dice that result in a score. They can either score the points earned from the dice or take a risk by rolling again to enhance their score. Scoring dice consist of 1s and 5s, along with several poker-style combinations such as pairs, straights, and more, which are given below.

3B: Select to dice reroll to enhance your score:

The player can enhance their hand by re-rolling if the initial roll contains at least one scoring die. They can choose which scoring dice to keep (at least one must be set aside, but not necessarily all), set them aside, and then re-roll the remaining dice.

Following any scoring roll, players can score their current hand based on the scoring rules below.

Until the score is officially banked, it remains vulnerable to a Farkle, which would erase the accumulated points.

3D: End the turn:

A turn concludes under either of the following circumstances:

If the player rolls or re-rolls and gets no scoring dice, it results in a FARKLE. In such cases, no points are earned for that turn.

Alternatively, the player may end their turn by banking the score after rolling or re-rolling scoring dice.

Play restarts clockwise (or if two players):

Subsequent turns will be taken by the next player, adhering to the same rules mentioned earlier.

Continue taking rounds/turns until 10,000 points and announce a winner:

The game progresses with players taking turns or rounds until one of them accumulates 10,000 points, at which point they are proclaimed the winner.

Here are some rules for playing Farkle:

  • You can only score points for a combination once per turn.
